Update:
Hello!
Havalah continues to do well. She had labs done last night and her numbers looked great. Absolutely everything was normal, and her prograf was at a reasonable level so she won't have to have labs done again for almost 3 weeks! We're thrilled about that.
So Lately I have been thinking about pre school and whether we should be sending Havalah next year. I know there are lots of options in the area, but I don't know a lot of specifics and I don't have any local friends with kids in pre school. I think we should start her in some sort of group activity with other kids, but I am not certain it has to be pre-school. From everything I've read it sounds really expensive, and I don't know if we may even be too late to sign up. I was thinking instead of going to a regular play group more often, and maybe enrolling her in some sort of dance or gymnastics/tumbling class. Feel free to offer up advice!
Now that the Flavors event is over with we have started thinking more about the liver walk. We are hoping that some of our family and local friends with walk with us as part of "" Team Havalah"" We are walking to raise money for the local branch of the American Liver Foundation, Some of the money raised goes towards things like support groups, some of it goes towards research, and raising awareness about liver disease and organ donation. If you want to be a part of Team Havalah here is what it involves :
1. Register for the event, the cost of registration is $15 for adults and free for children under 13. To register please email me at kristennn@gmail.com and I will send you a registration form.
2. Raise money ... ask your friends and family to support liver disease by donation $5-$20 or so. If you raise $50 you earn a liver walk t-shirt
3. Show up to walk on June 17th at Wakesha Frame park. Registration is at 9:30 and the walk starts at 10:30 I'm actually not sure how far the walk is, but since it's a family oriented event I know it's not very long.
That's it! And it should be a lot of fun! If you can't walk but would like to donate to Team Havalah you can send donations to our address at :
Kristen Wotruba-Kolb
714 E Townsend st
Milwaukee WI 53212
Please make checks out to the American Liver Foundation and add ""Team Havalah"" in the memo line.
We'll also need to come up with some sort of theme to show team unity and identify us a group ... Please feel free to send me suggestions. "
