Update:
No liver yet for Havalah. We had labs drawn again yesterday, and her numbers continue to creep upwards showing progressive damage to her liver. Her PELD number is now 13. We are fortunate that so far she has not had complications that so many BA kids have like portal hypertension and ascites, but it is inevitable if she continues to have to wait. Otherwise she continues to be a happy active baby. She's curious about absolutely everything!

Update:
Havalah continues to do about the same healthwise. We had her 9 month pediatric check up yesterday. Everything is normal aside from her liver problems. She weighs 14lbs 15oz and is 27 1/2 inches long. Her weight gain has slowed down, which is unfortunate but not unexpected. We've added a calorie supplement the few times a week that she gets formula. She continues to be her normal happy, fiesty self. She loves to bang on toys, or the window, and grab anything she can see. She's not quite lifting herself to crawl yet, but she tries.
We're still waiting for a liver to become available for Havalah, but we don't mind waiting for as long as she continues to be stable. We just pray that the right liver will come along at the right time before she starts to suffer from complications and side effects.
Things are really starting to come along with the fundraising. We've had a very strong show of support from friends and family. There are lots of events being planned and several dates have been set. We've also gotten some good news this week. We received a check for 3000.00 from Robinson Metal Inc. of Green Bay. Also local Green Bay anchorwoman Erin Davisson of Channel 5 News has agreed to MC our silent auction/dance at Riverside Ballroom on May 14th. She also thinks we'll be able to get a lot of media coverage since they are allready planning to be talking about transplants in May.
