Update:
Havalah had labs drawn yesterday and some of her liver numbers were up, but not quite as high as they were a month ago when she was listed. Her PELD number is expiring (it is only good for a month) so with her new lab results, it is going down from a 23 to a 12. This is mostly because a month ago her PT number (how fast your blood clots) was very high but since then, she's been put on vitamin K and the PT number has gone back down. Her changing PELD number won't affect things much right now because she is the only baby with her blood type waiting for a liver at our center (Children's Hospital of Milwaukee). We've been doing our best to get ready for the transplant by reading, researching, and trying to get started with fundraising. Transplants are a scary thing, but we're feeling optimistic.
